Shocking Webster Fire and Shooting

You can’t legislate your way out of evil..

Why left of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and lack of understanding of the Declaration of Independence? Why does the left always try and take away the rights of the good people, instead of the criminals?

What do you see when you see the below headline?

Did he kill his sister, too? Fears for missing sibling of felon who shot dead two firefighters he lured to his home with Christmas Eve fire

  • Four firefighters were shot, two of them killed while responding to a house fire in West Webster, New York early Monday
  • An assault rifle, the same type of weapon used in the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting 11 days ago, was reportedly the murder weapon
  • Gunman William Spengler lived with his sister and 'couldn't stand her'
  • Spengler, 65, killed himself after the shooting
  • Convicted felon, he served 17 years in prison after murdering his 92-year-old grandmother with a hammer in 1980

Naturally the above headline is very disturbing. I’ll ask again, what sticks out in your mind? If you are a liberal you see what a President wants you to see to fulfill his “One World Vision.”  “An assault rifle, the same type of weapon used in the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting 11 days ago, was reportedly the murder weapon.”

What sticks in my mind isConvicted felon, he served 17 years in prison after murdering his 92-year-old grandmother with a hammer in 1980.” Are you kidding me? He took a hammer to his grandmother and he served 17 years in prison! How did that rehabilitation work out? Why have I not heard anything about why this type of person was out in normal society, when he is not normal? Now please don’t give me the business about “He served his time” Because that could be true, but don’t you think the first thing to look at is changing how, when and WHERE these kinds of people get to live their lives when out?

Our society rewards people that makes big mistakes and punishes good, citizens, by putting them at risk because these bad people are still in open civilization, and the liberals answer? Taking away our Constitutional Right to protect ourselves. This is not the answer. The only way for real security against all types of crime is to have a well-armed citizenship. Our forefathers gave us the right and took away the right for the government to change it, but all you hear from the left is more gun control. Hope you’re not so naive to think that all would be great if we just got rid of the ten-plus round clips, did more background checks, checked the mentally insane with better cue cards and put cops in schools, you would be so far left, that you should check yourself into a mental facility.

Why don’t we work on condemning criminals before condemning law abiding citizens, by not allowing felons to be in normal open society again? As far as I’m concerned when a person takes a hammer to his grandmother, or a pair did a home invasion and sent the mother to the bank while beating the father and raping the daughter and then raping the mother when she came home, they don’t deserve to be a U.S. citizen and the Rights that implies. By the way, in the latter example, the two men poured gas all over them and set them on fire just to finish the job.

Our crime rate would spiral downward in an unprecedented drop never seen before. Do we really need people with a rap sheet as long as their arm running around free? And I speak from experience. While in Saudi Arabia, they take care of their criminals with their heads being separated from their bodies right where everyone can see. You can walk downtown in any city at 3am and not have a problem. But I’m considerate of the debate on capital punishment, and personally I believe when there is proof then I am for it, and with circumstantial evidence then life in prison is ok.

There could be different levels of penal colonies for our felons. One could debate the details, but hard felons would never be in open society again.

I am still trying to figure out when a criminal is released from prison(early) for "good behavior." What exactly is the system comparing "good" too?

I am writing a book and would like to include Mr. Schoonover's letter in it but need permission, which I hope you/he will grant. Thank you very much.
